Welcome to Clear Lake
A traditional suburb with an affinity for recreation.
A recreational paradise masquerading as a traditional suburb, Clear Lake offers its residents comfort, adventure, and community. Since it’s close to the shores of Clear Lake and offers easy access to Galveston Bay, it’s easy to spend your days out on a boat here. But recreation isn’t everything Clear Lake has to offer. With a thriving business sector, it’s a great place for professionals, and the tight-knit community and great schools make it an ideal place to raise kids.
Houston was established during the oil boom in the early 20th century, and Clear Lake soon followed. Because of its location, it developed into a playground for the newly wealthy oil businessmen. They came here to boat, play and build sprawling estates and retreats. Then, in 1963, shortly after NASA's Johnson Space Center was opened, the master-planned community of Clear Lake City was opened. Since then, it has grown into the sought-after suburb it is today.
The housing market in Clear Lake is diverse, with sprawling estates, gorgeous single-family homes, and luxury condos. But the most desirable places to live in the area are the private, master-planned communities. Bay Oaks is 690 acres of lush, wooded neighborhood, and it’s also home to the
Bay Oaks Country Club and Golf Course. Other notable communities in Clear Lake include The Reserve at Clear Lake, Brookwood, Pine Brook, and Northfork.
